We are thrilled to announce Ghost of Yōtei, the latest installment from Sucker Punch Productions, set to release in 2025! This new chapter introduces a brand new hero, Atsu, as we expand the Ghost universe beyond Jin Sakai's journey and the island of Tsushima.

When embarking on the development of Ghost of Yōtei, our aim was to retain the core pillars that fans loved in Ghost of Tsushima:

Innovating the Legacy
While we cherish the legacy of Ghost of Tsushima, we wanted to push boundaries and innovate. Thus, we turned our focus from Jin's tale to the essence of the Ghost itself. Origin stories have always fascinated us at Sucker Punch, and we are eager to delve into what it means for a new hero to don the Ghost mask and craft a new legend.
Welcome to 1603: The World of Yōtei
Set in 1603, over 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Atsu's adventure unfolds in the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Mount Yōtei in Ezo, known today as Hokkaido. In this untamed region, the organized samurai clans of Tsushima are a distant memory. Instead, players will explore sprawling grasslands, snowy tundras, and face unexpected dangers as they embark on an original story filled with excitement and intrigue.

Ghost of Yōtei marks Sucker Punch's first title developed from the ground up for PlayStation 5. We are excited to build upon the visual foundation laid by Ghost of Tsushima. Expect enhanced graphics with massive sightlines, stunning skies filled with twinkling stars and auroras, and more realistic environmental interactions, such as wind moving through grass and vegetation.
With this new setting, we are also introducing new gameplay mechanics, weapons, and improvements that will enhance the player experience even further.
A Glimpse into the Future
Our trailer provides just a sneak peek into the world of Ghost of Yōtei, but there is much more to reveal! In the coming months, we will share details about Atsu’s journey, the unique characters (and animals) she will encounter, and the exciting gameplay that awaits.
