Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Accessibility Updates and New Features

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, accessibility reaches new heights with a range of features designed to make gameplay more inclusive and customizable for all players. From asymmetrical hearing compensation to HUD presets and pause-and-save options in Zombies mode, these enhancements empower players to tailor their experience in powerful ways. Here’s a closer look at the new accessibility tools debuting in Black Ops 6.

Asymmetrical Hearing Compensation

Black Ops 6 is the first in the Call of Duty series to offer asymmetrical hearing compensation, allowing players with hearing loss to adjust audio settings for each ear individually. This setting provides a customized experience, particularly for veterans and players with asymmetrical hearing loss, while the "Reduce Tinnitus Sound" feature remains an option, replacing high-pitched sounds with duller ones for improved comfort.

Customizable High Contrast Settings

Expanding on the high contrast settings introduced in Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6 brings a more refined contrast mode available in both Campaign and Zombies. Players can now personalize color outlines around allies and enemies for better visibility, and an optional “Dark Background” setting adds contrast against game environments, aiding players with vision impairments.

Intelligent Movement

The new Intelligent Movement suite is designed to assist players with mobility limitations by minimizing button and joystick inputs. It includes:

  • Sprint Assist

  • Mantle Assist

  • Crouch Assist

  • Corner Slice

These options simplify movement through customizable assists, helping players with reduced mobility enjoy smoother gameplay.

HUD Presets

In Black Ops 6, players can tailor their HUD using a range of layout presets and color options for the minimap. For players who prefer minimal distractions or a simplified view, presets like Target Tracker and Central Command provide focused layouts to keep attention on the action.

Arachnophobia Settings in Zombies

To accommodate players with arachnophobia, Black Ops 6 Zombies mode includes a toggle to modify the appearance of spider-like enemies. This feature ensures that gameplay remains engaging and enjoyable without discomfort for players who prefer to avoid spider visuals.

Pause and Save in Zombies

With Round-Based Zombies making a comeback, solo players can now pause, save, and load games at their convenience, ensuring that the fast-paced gameplay remains manageable for those needing to take breaks. This feature makes it easier for players to enjoy solo Zombies gameplay at their own pace.

Compatible Accessories

Both the Xbox Adaptive Controller and Sony Access Controller are fully compatible with Black Ops 6, broadening accessibility options for players using adaptive input devices.
