Guangzhi Boss Guide - "Black Myth: Wukong"

In "Black Myth: Wukong," Guangzhi is an optional yet significant miniboss in Chapter 1. Although not essential to progress through Black Wind Mountain, defeating him grants you the highly valuable Red Tide Transformation Spell. Here's how to conquer Guangzhi and make the most of the rewards he offers.

Guangzhi Overview

  • Role: Optional Yaoguai Chief miniboss

  • Location: Forest of Wolves, after the Bullguard fight and reaching the Outside the Forest Shrine

  • Rewards: Red Tide Transformation Spell, Stone Spirit x1, 700 Experience, 528 Will

Where to Find Guangzhi

To locate Guangzhi, proceed through the Forest of Wolves following the Bullguard battle. After reaching the Outside the Forest Shrine, head through the large forested area. Keep left to ascend a hill and cross a small guarded bridge. Beyond the bridge, look for an archway between the forest hills to find Guangzhi's lair.

Guangzhi Mini-Boss Fight and Strategy

1. Preparation:

  • Before engaging Guangzhi, consider purchasing Cooling Powder to mitigate fire damage and Evil Repelling Medicant for increased damage absorption.

2. Attack Patterns:

  • Twinblade Combos: Guangzhi wields a fiery twinblade. His attacks include a series of downward swings, often preceded by a jump. Dodge the initial attacks and counter during his recovery.

  • Whirling Blade: When Guangzhi twirls his blade, wait for him to raise it high before he swings it side-to-side. This attack is slower, so use the opportunity to strike back.

  • Pogo Jump: Guangzhi performs a pogo jump attack by raising his weapon high, slamming down, and then executing a series of aerial slams. After the third slam, use Immobilize to pin him down and attack.

3. Ranged and Quick Attacks:

  • Bo-omerang Throw: If Guangzhi somersaults backward, he may throw his twinblade like a boomerang. Dodge the spinning blade and prepare for a counterattack.

  • Speed Dash: When Guangzhi adopts a crouched stance with his weapon, be ready to dodge his rapid dash attacks that return him to his original spot.

  • Aerial Slam: Guangzhi may build up momentum with somersaults and leaping attacks. If you have the Pillar Style unlocked, use it to avoid this attack and counter during his recovery.

4. Using the Immobilize Spell:

  • Apply Immobilize strategically to interrupt Guangzhi’s charged attacks or during his recovery from a combo. The spell's cooldown means you should use it wisely to maximize its effectiveness.

5. Final Phase and Rewards:

  • Once Guangzhi is defeated, his fiery blade will be left embedded in the ground. Pick it up to learn the Red Tide Transformation Spell, allowing you to transform into Guangzhi and use his abilities in combat.

Transformation Spell: Red Tide

  • Spell Benefits: The Red Tide Transformation Spell grants you separate health and might bars. Although Might depletes quickly, it powers up your transformations and special attacks.

  • Abilities: As Guangzhi, you can use spinning light attacks, quick dashes, and a powerful pogo jump attack. Utilize these abilities strategically to enhance your combat effectiveness.

With this guide, you’re now equipped to face Guangzhi and harness the power of the Red Tide Transformation Spell. Good luck, and may your skills lead you to victory in "Black Myth: Wukong"!
